Spiel: Our 2013 production, “Sandscapes,” uses a journey through the desert as a metaphor for the impermanence of things. We start the show with a quote that ends with, “…for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” While this is from the bible in Genesis chapter 3, we are simply using it as a way to communicate the idea that we are all dust. We might be in one place now, but the unpredictable winds of life can take us to places we may not expect. There is no need to dread these winds, as we never know when they may come. In fact, we may create them ourselves. Instead, the best we can do is live in the present every moment and in doing so, lead extraordinary lives.
